Dear All,
Thanks for this time, keeping up with my concerns. I just visited 音悅 today; it was a visit which benefitted me a lot. I finally found the perfect match!
As time allows, I will be posting my reflections on this five-hour trip down there, which would summarize my opinions of finding good matches. I would really like to recommend this place for all; not just because of the price, variety of products but because of the people you get to meet down there! Customers and DDL are all very enthusiastic people and very kind! What a great place to spend an afternoon.
What I have time for now is the following:
There are simple conclusions I arrived at during this trip.
1. If you are a person very familiar with the tonal characteristics of musical instruments and is picky about an accurate display of it, I would strongly recommend the HD 600 headphone. This conclusion is based upon trials of Grado, Audio-Technica, Beyer Dynamics, and other Sennheiser headphones under the same criterias of other equipment (amp, source, etc.). (The HD 580 is almost identical in sound characteristics to the HD 600 except during playbacks of symphonic music, so unless the cost difference cannot be made up or you don't have a need for listening to symphonic music, and you like the HD580, I would recommend still the HD600). I very happy that so far, I've made a headphone choice 100%fitting to my needs.
2. Variation of the source creates more difference in playback sound quality than variation in amps. This was important as I really don't have the money for a change in source + LC-1 + DAC......
3. LC-1 and ATH-HA2 (I'm looking forward to the LC-iCute arriving on the coming Wednesday) are the only fitting amp for any source with HD 600 out of the choices of LC-1, Creek OBH-11, POISON, and ATH-HA2.
This is it for now; I would just like to mention again that my visit at 音悅 was a wonderful experience that I would like the opportunity of in the future.
I can't wait for enough money......and trying the LC-iCute......
Enjoy your music!
Sincerely,
Richard Chen
